Island Buddy Guide

Okay, I'll be your Island Buddy :)

*~YOGA~*

If you love toning stretching & strengthening, this amazing Co-Op is run by a group of creative, talented and very experienced Yoga teachers.  Some of them have studied abroad and have decided to share their knowledge at Wailua church...a sparkling wooden floored space where the acoustics hit your soul...all on the North Shore of Oahu...15 minutes from Waimea.

Not to mention some of these teachers are friends of Harv & O and will also be at the wedding...they offer
 ~Shadow Yoga
~Vinyasa Flow
~Yin Yoga

and more.....for a measly 5 dollar donation.   And some of these girls teach at the hoity toity Turtle Bay Resort where the clients pay 15$ per class!!!

Here is the website and schedule:
The North Shore Yoga Co-Op 5$ donation per class

*~Hiking~*
with kids :)

Kaena Point ~5.4 miles round trip ~ fairly flat

Tide pools and possible monk seal sitings, to the western tip of Oahu...In the middle of the day it can be really hot...good early morning or sunset hike...kids should be able to handle...might be a bit long.  Can also mountain bike it ~ moguls and up own downies...20 minutes from Waimea

*~Cammie's Bunker Hike~*
kids ok

Location: North Shore, Pupukea. Another fun one starting at the top of Pupukea (Above Waimea, 1 min away) in Sunset Hills, contours the side of the coast on the mountain...with views of the north shore standing on top WWII bunkers...

*~Manoa Falls~*
kids ok till the 1st WaterFall

Location: South Shore, Manoa Valley. Beautiful walk through a lush tropical valley that makes you feel like you're in the Garden of Eden.

There's a bamboo forest section and the trail goes to a 150 ft waterfall. Adults who want a little more adrenaline in their day, can  climb to the top of that waterfall where there is another, less travelled waterfall.  This climb involves climbing tree banyan tree roots up the side of the mountain.

Another 20-30 minutes to the top of that waterfall.  For MORE adrenaline, Adults can climb to the top of the 2nd waterfall, to ANOTHER waterfall: Manoa Falls the 3rd Waterfall.  I haven't been past the 3rd waterfall.

Notes:
Easy 1 mile hike along a well-worn path
Wear proper footwear - the path may be slippery and muddy
Use mosquito repellent
