2008 - October - Pumpkins & Power Stances
One day in October, Kris gets a phone call from the casting director of "The Bachelorette" TV show. Apparently, they had gotten Kris' submission and wanted him to send in an audition video. Thing is, to his knowledge, he had not submitted ANYTHING! To this day, his best guess is that his friend Vinca submitted it as a joke.
After telling Harvey about needing a video, she jumped on the opportunity and offered to make a short clip about him using her FLIP video. His mannerisms and character were so quirky she HAD to get them on film. This is what they came up with:
Even though Harvey did not follow ANY of the video guidelines (no editing, no subtitles, etc) once the video was submitted, Orzo was immediately called back and flown to California where he was put up in an isolated hotel room for the formal interview process. He was not allowed to leave the room lest he meet any other potential "bachelors."
While he was there, he had to fill out a million page questionnaire about various tings he liked about the Girl He Wanted To Marry. One question was this: "What is your favorite perfume on a girl?" Boggled and completely unfamiliar with women's fragrances, Orzo called up Harvey and asked, "What kind of perfume do you wear?" She was tickled and blushing. "kona rain" was the answer.
Needless to say, Orzo was picked as a contestant but turned it down because he felt it would set a bad example for his students at school.
2008 - September - Cosmic Bowling
Kris had just moved up to the North Shore from Mililani. Harv knew the guy was fun the instant she met him, so with some nudging from her friends (formally known as the PPCC - Pupukea Posse Commando Crew) she invited him to come along cosmic bowling.
As soon as he saw the Shenanigans he pulled from his pocket (that he had been HIDING just in case we were a bunch of boring people) ARM CUFFS with thunderbolts on them. THEN he suggested we use highlighters to body paint ourselves...what?!
Instant Clickage. The two were on the road to becoming friends.
